AfterschoolOak Grove Academy offers our elementary after school children two spacious classrooms, each equipped with age appropriate materials such as Playstation game systems, computer labs, board games, art supplies, manipulative's, and toys. We also have a playground which was designed especially for elementary age children. The first classroom is for our children in kindergarten through first grade. Each day they are given time for play, a healthy snack, and quiet time to complete homework with teacher assistance. Once homework is complete, they are free to use the computers, play in a variety of centers, or join in group games. Outside play time is provided for a release of energy stored up during their regular school day through the use of our basketball court, playscape, and soccer field. Weekly Physical Education classes offer the students the opportunity to develop coordination, team building and confidence skills. The second room is for our students in the second through fifth grades. Like our younger students, these students have outside time, snack and an opportunity to complete homework. When finished with homework, they may chose from a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, computers, video games, board games and other centers, as well as outside activities. Our after school program services children on Forsyth and Fulton County Holidays (with the exception of the days Oak Grove is closed), as well as early release days. During school holidays, the students go on a wide variety of field trips. Typically the students take part in selecting the field trips. During the summer, the students are kept hopping! From field trips to arts and crafts, cooking experiences to theme days, the Oak Grove summer camp program is jam packed with fun. We believe the children enjoy themselves when there is something planned for their involvement. Whether it is a science experiment and cooking pizza or a field trip to the aquarium, the Oak Grove summer camp children are never bored! Our reputation for a fun-filled summer camp keeps the rooms full every year. |
