InfantsFrom the moment you step into our infant classroom, there is a sense of exceptional love and thoughtfulness in design. From individual changing tables for each infant to the large enclosed play area, the physical environment promotes development. The 1 to 4 teacher to child ratio allows each child to receive unparalleled individual attention. We limit the total number of babies in our Infant Room to 8 maintaining a spacious, calm, and nurturing environment. Our infants range in age from 6 weeks to crawlers, usually 7 months of age. Our qualified and nurturing teachers are specifically trained to work with infants. The curriculum in the infant room incorporates all facets of development and stimulation including daily exposure to puppets, books, music, and tummy time to promote large muscle development. A spacious, bright, and cheerful room is designed to be visually stimulating with pictures, mobiles, unbreakable mirrors, and colorful toys. The program includes aural stimulation with music, songs, conversation and toys that make clicking, spinning and squeaking sounds. Outside time provides for the sights and sounds of nature and the healthy benefit of fresh air and sunshine. All of our toys and equipment have been carefully selected to help develop eye-hand coordination and promote fine motor skills. The latest psychological studies demonstrate that infancy is the most important time in a child's life. It is the time when bonding (the process for building strong, lasting emotional ties), feelings of self-worth, confidence, independence and fears (both healthy and unhealthy) are rooted for a lifetime. We are dedicated to maintaining the strong bonds of intimacy, warmth, and security that your child enjoys at home with you and we are committed to meeting your child's physical, psychological, and emotional needs while he or she is in our care. We welcome your baby to our Infant Program and are delighted to be able to share with you the excitement and joys of your baby's day to day development. We consider it a privilege to be a part of that growth and development, and look forward to a wonderful relationship with you and your baby. |
